Union strike strategy and collective bargaining outcome are integral parts of industrial democracy. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between wildcat strike and measures of collective bargaining outcome (Terms/conditions of employment, Workplace rules and grievance procedures) as elements of industrial democracy of petroleum marketing companies in Rivers State, Nigeria. The population of the study consists of all the 10 petroleum marketing companies under the petroleum downstream sector in Rivers State, Nigeria, while the sample size is the same as the population because it qualified as small. The correlation survey approach was adopted. The structured questionnaire was developed and 102 copies distributed to managers and union leaders of the 10 petroleum marketing companies in Rivers State, Nigeria. 93 copies were retrieved representing 91.18 percent but 88 copies were usable and represent 94.62 percent. Instruments for the study were tested using the convergence validity test and Cronbach alpha tool for validity and reliability respectively. Analysis included four stages. Bivariate hypotheses were tested using Spearman’s rank order correlation coefficient and the multivariate; using the bootstrapping tool. Results from the study show that there exist strong positive and significant relationship amongst wildcat strike and measures of collective bargaining outcome. The results also show that the environment is the parent organism and wildcat strike is the signal that alerts it to intervene and forestall or correct intolerable practices in industry. The study concludes that wildcat strike is the way of influencing or coercing management to the bargaining table when it does not want to; and an action to ensure timely and proper implementation of collective agreement. The study recommends that better and regular workers-management meetings should be enshrined, the study also recommends co-authorship of workplace rules between unions and managements, and that companies should resort to internal and external laid down procedures for settling disputes.

The financial performance of listed Manufacturing firms in Nigeria has been deteriorated considerably. There are other issues that could lead to the poor economic performance but the researchers are explicitly interested in investigating the impact of board diversity on the relationship between ownership structure and financial performance of listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria from 2013 to 2022 financial years. The ownership structure variables used in this study are foreign ownership and concentrated ownership while the financial performance used is represented by return on assets (ROA), and the moderating variable is board diversity. The sample of the study is all the fifty (50) listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria that make up the population of the study. The study uses secondary data and multiple regressions for the purpose of this study. The findings of the study reveal that foreign ownership has a positive and insignificant effect on financial performance. However, concentrated ownership has a positive and significant effect on performance. Board diversity has a positive effect on the relationship between foreign ownership, concentrated ownership and financial performance. The researchers therefore recommend that Regulatory bodies of manufacturing firms such as Standard Organization of Nigeria should ensure that board diversity in listed manufacturing firms in Nigeria is composed in such a way as to ensure diversity of experiences without compromising compatibility, integrity and independence. Should ensure that the diversity of experience without compromising compatibility, integrity and independence.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of learning with the guided inquiry problem-based learning model based on local wisdom in the fifth grade science learning content at SD Negeri Siotapina, Buton Regency. This research is a quantitative research factorial design. The sample in this study were fifth grade students at SD Negeri 24 Buton and fifth grade students at SD Negeri 38 Buton with a total of 78 students. The results showed 1) Learning with the guided inquiry problem-based learning model based on local wisdom in effective learning content was carried out in the Science experiment class of Class V SD Negeri Siotapina, Buton Regency. 2) Learning with the problem based learning model based on guided inquiry based on local wisdom on effective content is carried out in experimental class 2 with auditory learning style, 3) Learning with the problem based learning model based on guided inquiry on local wisdom in science learning content Class V elementary school using problem based guided inquiry learning is better than the Problem Based learning model assisted by audio media.

This paper chiefly is focused on analyzing the disbursement system of Sri Lankan voluntary zaka¯h institutions. Although the institutionalization of zaka¯h has been in existence for several decades, its impact on the socio-economic condition of the Sri Lankan Muslim minority remains limited. According to some preliminary studies, the dominant consumption-oriented zaka¯h disbursement is a prime factor hampering the materialization of multiple socio-economic objectives of zaka¯h in the Sri Lankan pluralistic context. This study deployed the qualitative method along with content analysis to analyze the relevant data collected from the interviews and the existing literature on the subject. This study proposes that the current consumption-oriented distribution should be combined with the result-oriented distribution and carried out at all regional levels in a standard and well-planned manner that is capable to accommodate the investment and skill-oriented distributing systems. Such a hybrid mode of disbursement would contribute to realizing the broader objectives of zaka¯h for Muslim minorities in Sri Lanka.

Women have a very large role in the life of society and state, because women give birth to the next generation of the nation. So that women cannot be underestimated and have the same rights, one of which is education. Islamic boarding schools are one of the educational institutions that can be a place to build strong women and character, namely through niaiyah education. This study aims to analyze how nisaiyah education in Islamic boarding schools in building a strong spirit and special character for women. This research uses a literature review method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Research data were obtained from national and international journals, and books within the last 10 years. Data analysis is carried out by examining theories described in their own sentences, then the collection of information is further filtered according to the studies included in this research theme, finally a critical analysis is carried out to be drawn a conclusion. The results of this study show that the concept of nisaiyah-based education is sholihah. Women sholihah here means a qualified woman. This concept of nisaiyah education needs to be offered in the education system. This system is reflected in the form of integrated curriculum institutions, namely by synthesizing formal, informal, and non-formal curricula. With the concept of nisaiyah education, it is hoped that it will create a generation of qualified, militant, and superior in various fields.

Achieving quality education in the Philippines remains a knotty long-term task and continues to baffle all sectors of our society. Thus, this study determined the relationship between integration of indigenous game-based activity and interactive learning development among grade 10 students. This study employed random sampling technique in choosing the required number of respondents. They were surveyed on their profile and their level of perception in indigenous game-based activities and development in interactive learning. This study implied a questionnaire as a main tool for data collection. The gathered data obtained from their responses to the administered survey questionnaire underwent statistically treated with frequency and percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson r. The study revealed that the respondents are mostly 15 years old, 52.7% of the respondents are female, most of the respondents has 3 siblings, 40% of them are first child and 75.5% of the respondents are Roman Catholic. The study found that the relationship between game-based activities and interactive Learning among 10th -grade students varied depending on the specific learning scenario. While there was no significant relationship in group work, there was significant positive relationships in small group and think-pair-share activities. Integration of Indigenous Games is highly recommended to contribute to our understanding of how game-based activities can be used to enhance interactive Learning in educational settings, and provide important insights for educators and designers looking to incorporate games into their teaching practices.

the total quality management practices of school play an essential role in achieving school success in meeting its vision and mission. Hence, this study determined total quality management practices and its implication to teachers’ performance and school success. It utilized quantitative and descriptive- correlational approaches to gather data. The respondents of this study were 156 public elementary teachers of tiaong i, district. It was conducted during the third quarter of the school year 2022-2023. It employed the used researcher-made questionnaire validated by educational experts in the research in data gathering procedures. The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between total quality management practices and school success. It is proposed that the school leaders should provide an avenue on providing teachers opportunities for their career growth and development as well as continuously involving them in the school relevant matters in decision-making resulting to boost their leadership and self-esteem. Then, continuous up skilling of instructional skills in terms of curriculum planning and assessing and reporting should be given priority to induce positive learning outcomes. Likewise, institutionalizing of total quality management practices is recommended in school to set clear standards of providing a relevant and quality educational services to the learners. Lastly, for the future researcher, a follow up study can be conducted using a regression analysis to identify other predictors and moderators about total quality management practices that promotes school success.

Judges need to have accountability. It has been stated and observed that judges are not accountable for their judgments, orders and other judicial proceedings and they may pass the judgments, orders rightly or wrongly. In the way, an unfettered immunity has been granted to them for their actions in performing judicial actions in the name of judicial independence or judicial autonomy. Due to this, judges have become more independent, fearless since they are not accountable for their judicial judgments, orders and other judicial functions. Sometimes the judges may interpret the law wrongly and cause injustice rather than providing justice. An effort has been made to understand why there is need that the judges should be accountable and appraise it against number of benchmarks.

Lack of studies linking student support services and financial assistance, particularly the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) undergraduate scholarship, to college outcomes such as persistence has been one of the issues in STEM education in the Philippines. Even though previous findings have shown the clear impact of financial support on student success, local researchers have only focused on student satisfaction with the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and persistence. This is why the researchers decided to determine the relationship between the satisfaction of scholarship services provided by the DOST in terms of scholarship updates, support for scholars’ organizations and activities, staff assistance, support for scholarship-related problems, and scholarship benefits and college persistence components, namely: academic integration, social integration, support service satisfaction, degree commitment, institutional commitment, and academic conscientiousness. A descriptive-correlational design was utilized with a convenience sampling technique to select 67 DOST scholars as respondents. Self-reported assessments were used to measure the variables. The results show that the students were very satisfied with the scholarship services, and they are highly persistent in all indicators except academic conscientiousness. However, there is no significant relationship between satisfaction with scholarship services and college persistence. Studying other potential variables related to scholarship services and implementing policies to improve college persistence is recommended.

The study aimed to enhance the reading comprehension skills of Grade Five pupils using Reading Road Map. The study made use of quasi-experimental research design where an adopted-enhanced Reading Road Map was the primary datagathering instrument. One section of Grade Five Pupils, which is composed of forty-eight (48) pupils from Cabatang Elementary School contributed to the study. Percentage and weighted mean were used in the statistical analysis of data. Meanwhile, the study revealed in the mean pretest scores before using the Reading Road Map were the reading performance of the respondents falls under average in terms of sequencing of events, inferencing and noting significant details falls on good level and identifying the main idea belongs to the fair level only. Meanwhile, there were changes in the mean post-test of the respondents score. Despite the little improvement in the scores, the level of sequencing of events still falls under average level, inferencing and noting significant details still fall under good level. Identifying the main idea improves and falls under a good level. The little improvement in the mean score of the respondents indicates that somehow using Reading Road Map contributes to the reading comprehension skills of the respondents.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of communicative language teaching, such as content-based and task-Based instruction, in enhancing the speaking competence of grade 11 students in terms of fluency, vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and pronunciation. The researcher hopes that the problems encountered in speaking might be alleviated through the studys outcomes and further promotes the use of the approaches used in this study. The use of these approaches paved the way to enhance further speaking competence in fluency, vocabulary, grammatical accuracy, and pronunciation. This might open doors to those students who are hesitant to express their ideas in speaking not only in English subjects but also in other disciplines. Through the studys findings, the possible approaches in further promoting these approaches will be clear and hopefully effective. Meanwhile, the studys findings on enhancing the students speaking competence using communicative language teaching resulted in significant differences in fluency and grammatical accuracy. Whereas in terms of vocabulary and pronunciation, no significant difference was found. The results revealed that in terms of speaking competence, students have improved. However, the results also show that vocabulary and pronunciation skills are the competence found to have found the least mastered by the students since they are still in the adjustment period from the pandemic. They needed to be given more exposure to the vocabulary and practiced their pronunciation skills.

This study aimed to enhance the least mastered reading comprehension skills of Grade Five pupils in terms of identifying the main idea, sequencing of events, answering direct recall questions, predicting outcomes, and identifying unfamiliar vocabulary. The main concern of this study is to improve the pupil`s reading comprehension skills through the use of subjectintegrated instructional material. Meanwhile, the study revealed the mean pretest scores before using the subject-integrated instructional material were both Average in terms of identifying the main idea and predicting outcomes; Fair level in terms of answering direct recall questions and identifying unfamiliar vocabulary; sequencing of events found in the Poor level while in the post-test scores of the respondents after using the subject-integrated instructional materials revealed both Average in terms of identifying the main idea and answering direct recall questions; Fair level in terms of predicting outcomes and identifying unfamiliar vocabulary; in terms of sequencing of events still in Poor level despite of increase in the mean scores. However, the study also revealed that there is no significant difference before and after using the subject-integrated instructional material.

This study attempted to find out the significant difference between the basic mathematical skills of grade 5 learners before and after the implementation of innovative board game and the social learning after the implementation of innovative board game in grade 5 learners. As the findings of the study, the pre-test and post-test result of grade 5 learners before and after the implementation of innovative board game. The study answered two research questions and tested two null hypotheses in line with the stated objectives. The target population of the study comprised 904 NCE III (2021/2022) business education students in colleges of education (Private 126, State 461 and Federal 317) in Kwara State. Simple random sampling technique was used to select 417 NCE III students from colleges of education in Ilorin. Data were collected using a modified student-teacher assessment form and a self-designed questionnaire titled "Perceived Influence of Micro-teaching Skills on - Teachers’ Performance in Teaching Practice in Colleges of Education (PIMSSPTPCE)". Findings reveal that micro-teaching influences student-teacher communication skills and classroom management skills to a moderate extent. Based on the findings made, it is concluded that acquisition of relevant teaching skills is vital to teachers’ preparation and training. Based on the conclusion drawn, it is recommended, among others, that the use of communication skills should be taught to student teachers in the NCE programme to enhance their performance during teaching practice.

The study determined the practices of teachers in developing game-based instruction towards game-based learning, game-based learning activities and game-based learning environment and assessed the school achievement through teachers’ performance that includes strategies, innovation and intervention and students’ performance which includes motivation, skills and academic achievement. The researcher applied the descriptive method of research where the respondents described the existing practices in line with the Game-Based Instructional Delivery and School Achievement. The descriptions were obtained from her respondents which included One Hundred (100) Public Elementary School Teachers of Tiaong I District Tiaong, Quezon. Survey and type questionnaires were developed and validated to gather data. The result shows that teachers perceived Game-Based Learning as always practiced with mean of 4.13. The teachers assist the students in acquiring their skills. The result shows that teachers perceived Game-Based Learning Activities as always practiced with mean of 4.14. They always practicing and promote positive attitude and sense of fairness and sharing towards the students’ mastery. Based on the result, teachers perceived Game-Based Learning Environment as highly-practiced with mean of 4.23. As they go along in teaching their students on various games, the lesson become more enjoyable as they engage them in different games. Based on data gathered and interpreted in Teachers’ Performance, the level of school achievement is Very Good (Mean – 4.19). Based on data gathered and interpreted in Students’ Performance, the level of School Achievement is Excellent (mean – 4.29). Because they became motivated in learning the topics through the use of games. As the result shown on that the correlation of Game-Based Instructional Delivery and School Achievement is significant at the 0.01 level. And this result explained that the relationship among Game-Based Instructional Delivery and School Achievement are significantly related. Thus, the null hypothesis indicates that there is no significant relationship between GameBased Instructional Delivery And School Achievement is rejected.

This paper aims to compare plans to move the capital cities of Brazil and Indonesia. The method of this paper is structured literature study. The results of this study indicate that relocating the Brazilian capital has a significant impact on the environmental, political, social, and economic landscape of the country, and has several negative consequences, this should be a lesson for Indonesia, which is in the process of moving the capital. The conclusion of this study is that although there are differences in budget and implementation, Indonesia and Brazil have the same reasons for moving their capital cities and need to pay attention to the impact of moving on environmental aspects and local communities.

The formulation of this research problem is based to overcome the impacts that can be caused by the trend. This study aims to compare the sustainability of the nickel mining area CSR program. This study uses the literature review method, this research method is carried out by collecting and analyzing literature or written sources related to the research topic. The results of this study show that Brazil and Philippine have not implemented the three aspects of CSR sustainability. The conclusion of this study is CSR programs play an important role for nickel mines, therefore economic aspects, social aspects, and environmental aspects need to be included CSR program for nickel mining sustainability.

COVID-19 pandemic required Grade 11 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) students to study modularized Oral Communication in Context. Focusing on their specialization, while comprehending this subject independently, brought them learning difficulties. Delving into their experiences, this study sought to examine their self-directed learning strategies through qualitative-phenomenological method. With purposive sampling, the researchers selected self-directed participants as qualified ones for one-shot in-depth interview. Employing Colaizzi’s technique, the researchers analyzed and clustered responses into themes. Results revealed that students experienced subject learning difficulties, home learning environment distractions, concentration difficulties, independent learning adaptation, beneficial self-directed learning strategies, teacher’s valuable role, and optimism for the sake of educational benefits. Their self-directed learning strategies encompassed self-preparatory strategies, learning environment-preparatory strategies, technological learning strategies, non-technological learning strategies, information overloadmanagement strategies, time-management, and persistence-regulatory strategies. These inspired the researchers to craft self-directed learning strategy toolbox as students’ reference in overcoming the challenges. Further, this paper encouraged learning resource writers to ensure the contextualization of self-learning modules and teachers on the modification or delimitation of modular tasks. Finally, future researchers might also pursue a study on educational key players’ perspectives on these findings and evaluation of the toolbox.
